Covid-19 Making Face Masks

Linda Dodds – Founder

On March 23 we received word that face masks were running critically short in our community of Page Arizona. While talking with my granddaughter who works in Phoenix at the Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care Clinic, she informed me that they were also very low and down to their last two boxes of masks.

I spent some time researching how to make fabric face masks that would be beneficial to those using them and was able to find a suitable design that could be produced at our facility without to much interruption. I spoke with the CUDDLE Outreach Volunteers about the need and our ability to produce them. They willingly agreed to begin making them for the Phoenix clinic and our community, so we got started right away.

In four days we have produced more than 150 face masks delivering 50 to the Phoenix Clinic, 25 to Page Hospital, 12 to Page Hospital, 3 to Coconino Credit Union, 7 to National Bank of Arizona Page Branch and 50 more being shipped out yesterday. We also mailed three to a grandma in Fullerton California from a request we received online.

The masks have wire over the nose so they can fit snugly across your nose, ear elastic to keep them snug against your nose and they cover from the top of your nose to under the chin. We are making them available to anyone who needs them. 50 more are being shipped out on Friday.
